Calling all RUGBY FANS…fancy a festive treat whilst getting fit?

Date: Nov 26, 2018

Salford Red Devils have teamed up with the University of Salford to launch FanFit – a new smartphone app designed to get sports clubs and fans thinking about more healthy, active lifestyles.

The app contains a fitness tracker and a league table so that supporters can create some friendly competition by measuring their daily activity and ranking it against fellow fans. As well as providing you with the clubs latest news, fixtures & results, videos, social media and more.

Salford Red Devils are challenging YOU. They want to see who can do the most exercise throughout the Christmas period for the chance to win some great prizes.

All that is needed is a smartphone, either Android or IOS. The Salford Red Devils FanFit app can be downloaded here.

The person with the most amount of steps accumulated during December will receive a Salford Red Devil’s season ticket (or a credit) and the runner up will receive a Garmin VivoFit wristband.

January’s winner will take home a brand new Red Devils team shirt and the runner up will receive a Garmin VivoFit Wristband.

Dr Alex Fenton, who leads the sport industry collaboration zone for the Business School, at the university said: “This is a really fun way to help sports fans get fit. It is yet another great example of the kind work we do at Salford with industry, working directly with our partner clubs such as Salford Red Devils to try to get the best research results we can whilst addressing real health issues and creating real world impact.”

We’ve created our own league here at the Sports Centre and can’t wait to get started. Download the FanFit app now to get a step ahead of the competition and one step closer to winning the prizes.

This will be a great tool to keep you and your friends motivated with friendly competition and support on your fitness journeys. Share this with your fitness pals to get them signed up!

One way guaranteed to get you a few steps ahead of the competition is to take part in Salford University’s annual Santa Dash. The festive 3km course makes its return on Friday 7th December as we continue to raise money for our chosen charity Emmaus Salford.
