University of Salford Inclusion and Diversity Week and Interfaith Week Activity Information

As we look to fully support Salford Inclusion and Diversity Week and Interfaith week, we will be making our Fitness Classes completely free to all, for the full two-week duration from Monday 5th November - Friday 16th November.  Sport and physical activity in general are such powerful tools to help bring social groups and campus communities together, so why not attend a group exercise class? The Fitness Class Programme is an excellent way to get physically active and meet other Students in the process, and we wish to ensure that our provision helps to underpin the community values of “One World” as we look to provide an accessible platform for students to engage in Sport. The Team Salford Sports partnership play an important role within generating the community spirit on Campus, so ensure to pop over to the Sports Centre and sample the experience. From Zumba to Spinning, we have something for everyoneAll you need to do is book in with us at the Reception Desk, and we can get you started **

In addition, we will be running with a small programme of free activity at Allerton Sports Hall. Therefore, if you are studying at this area of Campus, and find it a struggle to get down to the Sports Centre, this will be an ideal programme to engage with, and you can just turn up and drop in– no booking required!

The Programme at Allerton Sports Hall will consist of:

·         Wednesday 7th November 12.15-1.00pm  -Pilates Incorporating elements of yoga, martial arts and other forms of exercise, this class will help to improve posture strength and flexibility

STRONG by Zumba® has it all burpees, squats, martial arts, muscle conditioning, cardio and more! Within the resource; there are helpful tips around nutrition, time planning, and many ways in which you can keep yourself physically active. Sitting within our portal is our developing online exercise library, alongside our Academic Partners in Sports Science, which should become a useful resource for our students, as we look to enhance the pathways in which our students can remain active on a consistent basis, as we look to enhance the ways in which students can look to take a holistic approach to prioritising their psychological, physiological and social wellbeing.
